Union minister prakash javadekar announces rajinikanth will be honored with the 51st Dada Saheb Phalke award. Information and Broadcasting minister prakash javadekar revealed that Superstar rajinikanth will be presented with the dadasaheb phalke honor which is considered to be the highest honor for an artist in indian cinema, the award comprises a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl, and a cash prize of ₹10,00,000. 


Amitabh Bachchan bagged this award in 2018. prakash javadekar also said, that india gives dadasaheb phalke awards for a film personality and this year, the selection has been made by a jury comprising Asha Bhonsle, mohanlal, vishwajeet Chatterjee, shankar mahadevan, and Subhash Ghai. All five of them had consultations and chose the name rajinikanth unanimously.


Meanwhile, rajinikanth is busy shooting for his next movie 'Annathe' under Siva's direction. The shooting for the movie has been paused due to the pandemic and now the shooting has been resumed. jagapathi babu has been the recent addition to the casting.
