The twins are first given the names A square and B square, but the two couples who adopt them eventually christen them Roy (Ranveer Singh) and Joy (Varun Sharma) instead. Unknowingly creating a recipe for chaos and calamity that will undoubtedly come to pass when these four boys grow up and cross paths. That is the one-line plot if you can call it that, of this rohit shetty movie, which is terribly deficient in the element that makes a comedy of mistakes.

"Cirkus" is based in the late 1960s or early 1970s and is set in the gorgeous green hills of ooty with painstakingly crafted colourful and fantastical set pieces that resemble a theme park. The movie makes a valiant effort to pay homage to the cinema of the time. Every now and again, a lot of iconic bollywood songs play in the background, and the actors' acting is the only thing that is louder than their period-appropriate attire. It's a full-on slapstick comedy, but that isn't the issue because bollywood has produced countless films in that type that have taken audiences on joyride rides. Additionally, some movies from Rohit Shetty's studio are included.

Only a few scenes, taken as a whole, are able to make us chuckle in the way rohit shetty movies usually do. Consider that our hero Roy is resistant to high-voltage shocks and that his highlight performance at his "Jubilee Cirkus" involved forcibly kissing two live wires with his bare hands. But each time he does that, his judwaa bhai and anyone else who touches him get a powerful electric shock. As soon as the deed is over, he is fine. If you can get over this, you might feel a bit more comfortable watching the rest of the story, which features caricatures, talented performers wasted in clichéd roles, dull language, and situations that literally go nowhere. The script has terrible redundancy and delivers nothing new in terms of humour or punchlines.

Although ranveer singh gives each of his roles his best effort, ultimately neither role has enough conviction. The cameo by deepika padukone in the song "Current Laga Re" is a standout moment and a welcome relief. varun Sharma's comic timing is criminally wasted in this scene, thus Johny Lever, who plays Polson bhai, is left to provide the much-needed real laughter. In his brief appearance on television, the talented comic produces more hilarious scenes than the entire group combined. pooja hegde portrays Roy's wife Mala in a sombre manner, and she looks stunning. As Roy's girlfriend, jacqueline fernandez steps in to up the glam factor, and she succeeds.


"Cirkus" is a bustling movie with a cast of characters assembled with the intention of making us laugh, but it falls well short of that goal.
