Tamil Nadu Finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan said at the madurai airport that taxes should be raised as the government has gone bankrupt. tamil Nadu Finance minister PDR Palanivel Thiagarajan met reporters at the madurai airport. Speaking at the time, he said, "There is no intention of backtracking on the fulfillment of election promises.

We borrowed and multiplied assets for the benefit of the TN Government. It is true that tamil Nadu is an economically developed state. But Ma. Fa. pandiyarajan has nothing to do with the economic growth of tamil Nadu. I am not aware of any plans announced under Rule 110 in the AIADMK regime. They have forgotten Jayalalithaa's policy of buying only 3 percent of the capital and borrowed 6 percent of the capital.

Corruption has taken place in the AIADMK regime and without launching many projects they just got loans to start projects and increased the burden alone and all of them will be brought to light soon. The jayalalithaa regime does not have this much debt burden. As the tamil Nadu government goes bankrupt, taxes must be raised and we have no other choice. But, it is not possible to answer whether it is now or later and we have to decide it."
