In light of the increased number of Covid-19 cases and the threat posed by the novel Omicron coronavirus type, the government has updated the existing standards for international arrivals in India. Passengers will now be required to submit a self-declaration application and a negative RT-PCR report to an internet portal prior to their trip under the new requirements. They've also been given the option to pre-book a Covid-19 test, which will be administered when they arrive.

1. Fill out a self-declaration form on the online air Suvidha portal with complete and accurate information, including travel details from the last 14 days.

2. Submit a Covid-19 RT-PCR report that is negative. The test should have been completed within 72 hours of leaving for the trip.

3. Each passenger must also sign a declaration attesting to the report's validity, and if discovered to be false, will face criminal charges.

4. They must also provide an undertaking to the Ministry of Civil Aviation via involved airlines, either on the portal or elsewhere, before they are permitted to travel. They should state that they will follow the competent government authority's decision to undertake home quarantine if necessary.

5. Travellers from specific countries are identified for additional follow-up depending on the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in those countries.

6. All travelers who must undergo testing upon arrival should rather pre-book the exam online using the air Suvidha Portal to ensure that testing is completed on schedule.

Before Boarding

1. airlines must notify passengers arriving from or travelling to at-risk nations that they will be subjected to post-arrival testing. If they test negative, they will be quarantined, and if they test positive, they will be subjected to strict isolation techniques.

2. The airlines/agencies involved must give travellers with Do's and Don'ts together with a ticket.

3. Only those passengers who have completed the self-declaration form on the air Suvidha portal and uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report will be allowed to board.
