
Some say Bollywood inspires the real world and the Bollywood says we gather inspiration from the real world. May be both are correct in their own ways. Here are some movies which are inspired from the real life stories.
1. Talvar

Talvar is based on the much debated Aarushi Talwar's murder case fiasco. Madhur Bhandarkar's directorial the movie tries to solve the mystery of the killer through the movie which has three versions of it.
2. Not a Love Story
Though the makers of this movie have denied, it is inspired by TV executive Neeraj Grover's gruesome murder case.
3. Once Upon A Time In Mumbai

The film shows how the underworld scene grew bigger in Mumbai during the 70s and is loosely based on the infamous underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Haji Mastan.
4. Special 26

Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher in the movie, 'Special 26' are a replica of the real life group of people who posed as CBI officers and held raid and looted Tribovandas Bimji Zaveri in Mumbai.
5. Shootout At Lokhandwala

The real-life encounter of gangster Maya Dolas at the hands of ACP A.A. Khan in November 1991 is copied in this movie. The movie also showed the cornering of the criminals in the Lokhandwala complex by 400 policemen and the eventual death.
6. Madras Cafe

In 1980s, the intervention of India in the Sri Lankan civil war which resulted in subsequent assassination of our Indian Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi is essayed in this movie.
