Pragati Shetty has designed more than 1000 costumes for this film. Out of which there were around 350 costumes for the lead characters. There were around 20 sets for rishabh and double the number for lead actress Saptami Gowda. Pragati told that when the script of this film was prepared, she was pregnant at that time, during which she started research. He visited a village located in the coastal region of Karnataka, where the leaders of other nearby villages lived. The concept of Raja-Raji's dress and jewelery came from there. Pragati also visited rani Abbakka's museum and collected photographs from that era, which helped me a lot.

Pragati had told that they mainly had three people for the costumes, Rocky, kiran and four other costumers who used to see the continuity of the costume for a scene. These dresses were mainly procured from different vendors of Bangalore, Mangaluru, Udupi, Manipal and Kundapura. Those vendors would drop the parcel in the bus and his team used to collect it from there. Pragati told that she had a special dress for each character.
Apart from the research for Kantara's dress design, the most challenging task was the aging of the dress. Some dresses take at least 2-3 days to be ready. Especially the dresses that were used during the fight, we had several sets of dress and slippers as they could get damaged during the fight. There are total 4 fights in Kantara and we had 4 sets of all the costumes ready. Despite this, some of the costumes and shoes were completely ruined and we didn't have enough time to fix them. So we had to go behind the scenes and apply some mud to the clothes to make them look old. If the actors had come to know that we had done this, they would certainly have refused to wear them.
