Reportedly world champion pv sindhu is not only one of the best players in badminton at the moment but also among the highest paid female athletes in the world. Last year she was tied for 13th place on the forbes List of Highest-Paid Female Athletes. sindhu had total earnings of 5.5 million dollars last year which and is certainly the most marketable female athlete in India. Winning the BWF World Tour Finals in 2018 and the BWF World championship in 2019 significantly added to her riches.

While money remains a motivating factor for the Hyderabadi, sindhu admitted that winning medals is still her top priority but she was happy when her name came up in the forbes list last year. Sindhu, speaking to india Today's Rajdeep Sardesai, also revealed that unlike most other athletes, she actually likes shooting for advertisements and commercials as it gives her a chance to do something else apart from badminton. "I was happy to see my name on the forbes list. Being on it with other sporting superstars is sort of a motivation, not a distraction. I used to like going for the shoots because it was something different than badminton for me.

"I don't think I need more money, getting medals is definitely a big thing. Winning medals will bring money," sindhu said on the latest episode of india Today, india Tomorrow. Sindhu's father PV Ramanna was also part of the interview and made it clear that no matter how much money an athlete like her daughter earns, one should never forget their values and the background from where he or she came from before making it big. PV Ramanna, who was a member of the indian volleyball team that won bronze in the 1986 Asian Games and was honored with the arjuna Award in 2000, said that her superstar daughter sindhu still has her values intact, like every athletes should.
