Jeremy clinched the 2nd gold medal for India!!!

India's youth Olympic champion Jeremy Lalrinnunga has given india the second gold medal on the third day. He lifted 140kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk to ensure India's second gold. This is India's second consecutive gold in the Commonwealth Games. Earlier, Mirabai Chanu had won gold in 49kg.

Youth Olympic champion Jeremy Lalrinnunga had promised to perform well ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, relying on his preparations. He expressed hope of breaking the record at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, saying that he is fully fit. Jeremy, who has been battling back and knee injuries for a long time, lifted a total of 305kg in the men's 67kg category at the Commonwealth 

Jeremy trained for a month in Birmingham so that he could adapt himself to that environment. The 19-year-old indian star weightlifter was in great form and was also very excited about the sport.

Jeremy holds three national records in 67kg. He has lifted a total of 306 kg with 141 kg in snatch and 167 kg in clean and jerk. Jeremy started his weightlifting career in the year 2011. His father works as a PWD labor to look after the family of 8 people. Jeremy has 5 siblings who have been a constant support to him throughout his weightlifting journey. He was inducted into the army Sports Institute in the year 2012. Jeremy joined the National Camp in the year 2016.
