With a first, a tamil Nadu pair seems to have something unique planning for their wedding ceremony. Dinesh SP, a research assistant at IIT Madras, and his fiancee, Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, a computer engineer, are planning to marry on february 6 and have their fantasy celebration later in the day at Hogwarts castle. The pair will greet and welcome their family and friends in a virtual avatar in the metaverse at the celebration, which will be held in the Hogwarts dining room for the first time. The pair, who are both Harry Potter fans, will marry in Krishnagiri's Sivalingapuram hamlet.

Dinesh remarked in a status update, "I'm interested in Blockchain, NFTs, and cryptocurrency. I've decided to hold my wedding in the Metaverse, making it the first metaverse wedding in ASIA (India wants to give everyone the metaverse experience). Furthermore, in this pandemic era, social isolation and overpopulation can be prevented through the use of a metaverse." He also mentioned that Janaganandhini's dad, who died in April, will be present during the marriage. In the metaverse, a realistic 3D virtual image of her dad has been built to witness the couple's wedding ceremony.

Janaganandhini, the newlywed, was looking forward to the celebration and was pleased to see her dad there. "I would have to ask him several times to grasp this notion, and I'm still not sure how it will work out. I'm overjoyed that my dad's virtual persona will be present at my marriage, despite the fact that he won't be physically present. When he died, I was devastated, but now Dinesh is getting him back digitally for us."
