Ajit Nivard Kabrali, governor of the Central bank of sri lanka, has resigned from his position amid the ongoing economic crisis and political turbulence in neighbouring Sri Lanka.

During Sri Lanka's economic crisis and emergency, the governor of the Central bank has resigned. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has accepted Ajit Nivard Cabral's resignation. Earlier, on Sunday, all ministers in sri lanka resigned.

"All the ministers have resigned," Cabral said on Twitter, "therefore I have also presented my resignation to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa." Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's new administration is due to be sworn in today.
According to media sources, before quitting, Cabral was summoned to a cabinet meeting and questioned about the bank's procedures. He also had a disagreement with several ministers at this time. Cabral quit in less than seven months.

On Monday, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa urged the opposition to join a united government. According to a statement from the President's Office, the President urges all political parties in parliament to accept cabinet posts and work together to tackle the national problem.
In the midst of the economic crisis, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has fired his brother, Finance minister Basil Rajapaksa, according to a Sri Lankan source. In place of Basil, the president has chosen Al Sabri as finance minister. The country's first minister of Justice was Al Sabri.
