The telangana cabinet resolved on sunday to hold a budget session of the Legislative assembly beginning february 8 and to declare two additional electoral 'guarantees' of the ruling congress during the session. Briefing reporters sunday night following the cabinet meeting, state IT minister D sridhar Babu stated that the assembly session will commence on february 8 with governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's speech.

The cabinet agreed to modify the state's official emblem in a way that "reflects the people without any trace of monarchy" in various choices embodying the goals of the telangana struggle, according to state Information and Public Relations minister Ponguleti srinivas Reddy.

The cabinet meeting, headed over by chief minister A revanth Reddy, agreed to make 'Jaya Jaya He Telangana', a popular song composed by poet Ande Sri, the official song.

The cabinet also resolved to use 'TG' instead of the current 'TS', which indicates the name of the state, on automobile registration plates.

According to sridhar Babu, the cm would announce the execution of two additional 'guarantees' on the floor of the house during the assembly session.

Out of the six campaign 'guarantees' promised by the congress, the administration had previously began execution of two promises: free riding on state-run rtc buses for women and a Rs 10 lakh health fund for the poor.

The cabinet accepted the government's intention to undertake a 'caste census' in the state, as indicated before.

The cabinet also resolved to reopen the state-run Nizam Sugars Factory and form the kodangal Area Development Authority. kodangal is the assembly seat represented by chief minister revanth Reddy.
