A small country will compete with China with India's 'Brahmos'!
After Philippines, now vietnam is also going to become the second Asian country to buy India's Brahmos missile. It is a supersonic cruise missile. According to the information received, the total cost of this deal can be around 700 million dollars i.e. about 5990 crores rupees. Sources say that a big decision can be taken on this deal soon.
Like Philippines, vietnam has also had a dispute with china regarding the maritime border in the South china Sea. For this reason, vietnam is trying to strengthen its army. In the last few years, military relations between india and vietnam have deepened.
Philippines has received delivery
Philippines had signed an agreement with india for three Brahmos missile batteries for 375 million dollars. Now india has also started supplying these missiles to Philippines. Now the Brahmos missile deal with vietnam has also reached the final stage. Apart from this, talks are also going on with indonesia regarding this missile. This deal is said to be worth about 450 million dollars. Apart from this, many countries of Central Asia, South America and Middle East have also shown interest in buying Brahmos missile.
Range will be more than 600 kilometers
The range of Brahmos missile was earlier 290 kilometers, but now preparations are underway to increase it further. indian scientists are working to make it capable of striking from 400 to 600 kilometers. Recently, the indian Air Force successfully tested the Brahmos Extended Range from Sukhoi fighter aircraft, which had a strike range of more than 400 kilometers.
Alarm bell for China
China leaves no stone unturned in intimidating the countries in the South china sea and its surrounding areas. Many times it also interferes in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of these countries i.e. special sea area. Since 2009, the relations between china and the philippines have worsened further. china has released a new map, in which it has claimed a large part of the South china sea as its own by drawing a 9-dash line. This line also includes many islands of the philippines and a part of the EEZ.
Due to this bullying by china, the threat of occupation of the maritime areas of countries like the philippines, vietnam, taiwan and malaysia has increased. In such a situation, India's Brahmos missile can become a strong security shield for these countries, which can protect them from the growing threat of China.
