Following the terror incident in pahalgam, Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All india Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has supported the government's decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty and called for swift and forceful action against Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters following the Center's all-party gathering in New Delhi, Owaisi praised the cabinet Committee on Security's choices and stated that the government should not be reluctant to take action against the nation that provides sanctuary to terrorist groups.

Owaisi praised the government's audacious decision to halt the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, but he questioned where the water would be stored. "The suspension of the Indus Water Treaty is excellent, but where will we store the water?  Whatever the central government decides, we will back it.  Owaisi declared, "This is not a political issue."

He went on to say that india was entitled to a forceful response to the pahalgam attack under international law. "The country that provides sanctuary to terrorist organizations may be targeted by the federal authorities.  We can also impose sanctions on military sales to pakistan and conduct an air and naval blockade in self-defense in accordance with international law," he said.

Owaisi also questioned the security response's tardiness during the Baisaran Meadow incident.  "What prevented the CRPF from being stationed at the Baisaran meadow?  Why did it take the rapid response team one hour to get there?  He reiterated the targeted and intensely communal nature of the executions by saying, "They shot people by asking their religion."

According to insiders, the government acknowledged security flaws in the terror attack during the all-party conference.

"Why are we seated here if everything had gone according to plan?  During the discussion, a leader of the ruling party allegedly informed the opposition leaders, "There have been lapses somewhere that we have to find out."

He vehemently denounced the terrorists but also called for an end to "false propaganda" against Kashmiris and Valley youngsters.  "I condemn the way the terrorists killed people by asking about their religion," he stated.

Owaisi had already responded to the atrocity by calling the pahalgam incident more painful and hazardous than the terror attacks in uri and Pulwama.

He had referred to the incident as a significant intelligence failure and stated that the government needed to reconsider its deterrent strategy while addressing reporters in Hyderabad.  "This is also a failure of intelligence.  He had stated, "We hope the government ensures justice for the families of the victims and teaches these terrorists a lesson."

Top leaders such as Union Ministers JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, and S. Jaishankar, congress President mallikarjun Kharge, and lok sabha leader of the Opposition rahul gandhi attended the all-party meeting.  A decision to remain unified in the battle against terrorism was reached at the end of the meeting.

Twenty-six individuals were killed in the pahalgam terror assault on april 22.  The attack, which targeted tourists at the Baisaran meadows during the busiest travel season, was attributed to the Resistance Front, a division of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
