Kerala: bjp retaliates on calling minister suresh Gopi's victory fake, Chandrashekhar said- congress should go to ec or court
Kerala bjp President rajeev Chandrashekhar has rejected the allegations of Congress and cpi, in which Union minister suresh Gopi has been accused of giving a fake manifesto and manipulating the voter list in the 2024 lok sabha elections. He said that such cases should be raised in the election commission or the court, and not spread lies to provoke the public.
Chandrashekhar's remarks came after the allegations of Congress and cpi that Union minister of State suresh Gopi had filed a wrong declaration during the 2024 lok sabha elections and his victory from thrissur constituency was due to the manipulation of the voter list.
The congress had alleged a day earlier that the Union minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Tourism had filed a wrong declaration to be included in the voter list of thrissur lok sabha constituency. The country's oldest party has lodged a police complaint seeking registration of a criminal case against him.
Earlier, cpi leader V.S. sunil Kumar on Monday had alleged that there was a clear manipulation of the voter list that led to Gopi's victory in the thrissur constituency. Gopi had won the thrissur seat by a huge margin of over 74,000 votes, defeating Kumar and Congress candidate K. Muraleedharan in a close triangular contest.
On Wednesday, chandrasekhar questioned the veracity of the allegations, saying these claims were being raised one and a half years after Gopi won the lok sabha election. The bjp leader also said that such issues should be raised by filing complaints or election petitions in the election commission or courts, but they do not do so. Instead, they try to incite the public by lying or diverting people's attention with their propaganda. It is all a sham.
He alleged that congress leader rahul gandhi and kerala Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan are doing such drama as the elections are nearing. Meanwhile, Gopi reached thrissur and met a bjp worker who was injured in a protest on Tuesday. After reaching thrissur railway station, the minister did not answer reporters' questions about the allegations made by the congress and the CPI.
