How to make Sweet Pongal(Sakkarai Pongal)?

The first day of Thai is celebrated as a festival of Tamils. pongal festival is celebrated all over tamil Nadu on this day. pongal festival is a festival celebrated by Tamilians, the oldest citizen who appeared before the age of stone and earth. It is celebrated based on agriculture. They worship the sun as a god which helps a lot in agriculture. Apart from that, this festival of pongal is celebrated to thank the nature goddess Kathiravan and the ploughing drive. pongal is a festival to celebrate together with friends and relatives. 

Take a cleaned pongal pot and keep it on the stove. Pour the drained water(Rice washed water) into the pot for Pongal. You can add milk if you like. Water and the milk gushes out once boiled. people who don't know Kulavai should say Pongalo Pongal. Keep the hot water in the pot according to the quantity of rice and take out the excess water. Then put the rice in it, and let it boil accordingly. Once the rice gets cooked add crushed jaggery to the ratio of 1:2 and let it boil for 10 mins. Finally, add fried cashews and raisins to the sweet pongal with additional ghee as per your taste.

When pongal is ready, reduce the heat. The rice will sink to the bottom otherwise. The pot should be lowered in front of the banana leaf. pooja should be done after lowering the pongal pot. Then sugar pongal should be served to the children and elders after worshipping the ancestors.
