According to data from the Union health ministry, india recorded 16,326 new COVID-19 cases in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 3,41,59,561. The number of active cases has dropped to 1,73,729, the lowest level since march 2020. However, the country has had 666 fatalities in the previous 24 hours, with kerala accounting for 291 of them, bringing India's COVID-19 number of deaths to 4,53,708. According to the ministry of health, the national cure rate was 98.16 %, its the highest since march 2020.

In the last 24 hours, 68.48 lakh vaccinations have been provided, bringing the total number of vaccine dosages to 101.30 crores. For the last 29 days, the average COVID-19 case tally has been fewer than 30K, and for the past 118 days, it has been just under 50,000. A study of Sept & Oct data reveals a downward trend in daily COVID-19 instances. The top 5 states, Maharashtra,  Karnataka, kerala, tamil Nadu, & Andhra Pradesh, account for 56 % of all cases.

On Friday, a maximum of 13,64,681 samples was done, bringing the total number of COVID-19 tests performed across the nation to 59,84,31,163. Maharashtra, one of the worst-affected states, resumed movie theatres, and auditoriums reduced 50% maximum seating on Friday, as COVID-19 instances decreased in the state.
