EWS quota is a setback for 100 years, will apply again; stalin announces protest

All parties including BJP, and congress have welcomed the supreme Court's declaration of the EWS quota as valid and constitutional. This has been strongly opposed by the only party DMK. stalin, the leader of DMK, who is in power in tamil Nadu, said that we will file a review petition against this decision. He said that we are taking opinions from our lawyers and will again go to court against it. Terming the decision as unfortunate, MK stalin said that it has set a century-long fight for social justice. He also appealed to all the people to unite against this.
The DMK government of tamil Nadu was a party in this matter. He had taken the decision not to provide jobs under the EWS quota in his state and challenged it in the supreme Court.DMK ally T. Thirumavalan has also said that the party will file an application for review in court. stalin said that this decision is like a setback to our one-century fight for social justice. He said that all the organizations and like-minded political parties who have got the first amendment for reservation in the constitution will have to unite. Only then we can present our case in this matter.

Stalin said that it is time we have to unite again for social justice. Senior advocate P. Wilson, appearing for DMK, said that reservation means social justice. There was no sense of doing economic justice under it." The purpose of reservation was to provide equal opportunities in educational institutions and jobs to those who have historically been unfairly treated," he said.DMK's counsel said that reservations cannot be arranged on the basis of poverty alone.
