What happened in Balakot?
On february 14, a suicide terrorist of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed attacked a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Kashmir. In this assault, 40 members of the CRPF lost their lives. In response to this, 12 days later, on february 26, in the dark of night, Mirage-2000 aircraft of the indian Air Force crossed the LoC and carried out a surgical strike in Pakistan. In this surgical strike, the training camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot of khyber pakhtunkhwa province of pakistan were destroyed by dropping bombs. The next day, Pakistani fighter jets entered the indian border, one of which was shot down by Wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman of the indian Air Force.
