Before the chhattisgarh assembly elections, political activity has intensified in the state. congress has
fielded sitting mla ambika Singhdev on the only Baikunthpur assembly seat in Koriya district, while BJP
has given ticket to former minister Bhaiya Lal Rajwade. There is a tough competition between the two.
Sanjay Kamro of Gondwana Republic party is also no less. At the same time, akash Jaiswal of Aam
Aadmi party is also trying to make his place. congress has fielded ambika Singhdev for the second time
while bjp has fielded former minister Bhaiya Lal Rajwade for the fifth time. The entire game of this
assembly is entangled in the caste equation.
Baikunthpur assembly seat is that prestigious seat on which the current deputy cm TS Singhdev had to
face defeat. He was defeated by his uncle, former Finance minister Dr. Ramchandra Singhdev, who
contested as an independent candidate. His mother Devendra Kumar Singhdev has been the mla here.
Former Finance minister Dr. Ramchandra Singhdev was mla from here 6 times. He was the first Finance
Minister of chhattisgarh along with minister of many departments in undivided Madhya Pradesh.
Election entangled in caste equation
This time in Baikunthpur assembly there is a direct contest between bjp, congress and Gondwana
Gantantra Party. Everyone's focus is on the caste equation on this seat. Actually, bjp started caste politics
from 2003. Keeping in mind the number of voters of Rajwade community, bjp made former minister
Bhaiya Lal Rajwade its candidate for the last 4 times. Won twice and lost twice. Now bjp has once again
played the Rajwada caste card for the 5th time.
In Baikunthpur assembly, Sahu community has more population than Rajwade community and it has a big
influence in the elections. On the other hand, among the tribal society, Gond community has the highest
number of voters, along with Sant Ravidas Samaj, Oraon, Christian, Kanwar, Kushwaha, Yadav, Bargah,
Muslim, Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Soni, there are many such communities whose votes not only have
an impact. Yes, they also decide victory and defeat. Everyone has their own social leaders and their
influence in the society. Along with the participation of all of them in this election, there will also be
mutual coordination. Which can be seen in the election results.
