Syrian Embassy pleads to indians to lend hands...

Three days after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southeast turkey, on february 9, 2023, people stand among the debris of demolished buildings in Kahramanmaras as search activities take place. More than 17,100 people have died as a result of a massive earthquake that struck turkey and syria on february 9, as prospects of rescuing survivors trapped under debris in the bitter cold dwindled.

The Syrian Embassy in india made a plea for assistance on thursday in the wake of the horrific earthquake that left hundreds dead and some more still trapped under the rubble. The embassy invited the citizens of india to make financial contributions.

"We are pleading with all of our indian friends to step up and lend a hand.

Everyone who wants to assist and donate is invited to do so, the Embassy said in a statement.

The message also listed the supplies that are currently needed urgently by individuals impacted throughout the nation. They contain, among other things, protective and safety items, medical equipment and devices, emergency medications, blankets, tents, and clothing for the cold. Along with bank account numbers for various types of monetary gifts, it also provided contact information for the relevant parties.

Prior to it, the european union (EUcrisis )'s management commission asked its member nations to react to Syria's request for assistance. The EU's sanctions made it difficult for syria to first receive aid in the wake of the natural disaster. However, the Union has recently declared that assistance is welcome.
