
Delhi’s old excise policy is suddenly in the news. According to sources, due to the delay in the
announcement of the new excise policy (Delhi New Excise Policy), there is a possibility of the old excise
policy getting another extension (Old Excise Policy Extension). Let us tell you that delhi government had
implemented the old policy in september last year. The latest update regarding Delhi’s old liquor policy is
that it was implemented on september 1 last year. Now the news is that the old excise duty system is likely
to get further expansion. According to information received from sources, the current policy is going to end
on september 30. The new policy is yet to be announced by the delhi government. This may take some
more time.
LG had recommended cbi investigation
In July 2022, Lieutenant governor Vinai Saxena had recommended a cbi inquiry into alleged irregularities
in its implementation. After that, after ending its new policy, the government returned to its old excise

The existing policy got extension on march 31
Delhi's current liquor policy was scheduled to expire on march 31, 2023, but the Arvind Kejriwal
government at that time had given it an extension of six months till september 30. At that time, leaders of
the National Restaurant Association had said that holders of excise licenses for the hotel, club and restaurant
category were facing problems in getting the police verification required for renewal of their permits.
