According to the investigation of indian Express, from the year 2014 to march 2023, ED's action against politicians has increased four times. In these nine years, 121 prominent politicians came under investigation. Of these, 95 percent i.e. 115 leaders are opposition. During the UPA regime from 2004 to 2014, a total of 26 leaders came under investigation, out of which 54 percent i.e. 14 were from the opposition. Prominent opposition leaders on whom the ED has tightened its noose in the last 9 years include rahul gandhi, sonia gandhi, mallikarjun Kharge, Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Raut, abhishek Banerjee, Jayat Patil, Raghav Chadha, P Chidambaram, DK Shivakumar.

Allegation of fraud on sonia gandhi and rahul Gandhi

This company used to publish a newspaper named National Herald, hence it got land from the government at cheap rates in big cities. congress President mallikarjun Kharge, former President sonia gandhi, rahul gandhi and other congress leaders are accused of forming a company named Young india Limited to acquire this government land in their name. In the year 2011, sonia gandhi and rahul Gandhi's company Young india Limited took over Associates Journals Limited by paying only Rs 50 lakh. In this way he became the owner of property worth Rs 2 thousand crores. bjp mp Subramanian Swamy was the first to raise this issue of money laundering. In 2013, Swamy filed a complaint in a court against the gandhi family for fraud and misuse of funds. Since then ED is investigating the case. sonia gandhi and rahul gandhi have also been interrogated in the case. About 20 congress leaders are under the scanner of the investigating agency.
