The accident took place in the Kumhari area of Durg district of chhattisgarh when a private company named Distillery was transporting its employees to their homes. Around 8:30 pm, the bus accidentally fell into a pit dug for moram soil at a depth of about 40 feet. Locals who came to know the matter rushed them to the hospital. There are about 30 employees on this bus. Four employees died immediately after the accident. Another 11 employees died while receiving treatment at the hospital. The rest of the employees are receiving treatment in the hospital.


Prime minister Narendra Modi expressed shock after learning this. He expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Modi said that we will support their families in all possible ways. The injured are being treated at raipur AIIMS Hospital. However, the reasons for the incident are still unknown.
 The local police have already started an investigation into how the accident happened. chhattisgarh cm Vishnudev, who came to know about the matter, expressed an inquiry. chhattisgarh Deputy cm Vijay Sharma reached the AIIMS hospital and inquired about the health conditions of the injured.
