We reported earlier about the all-party meeting which has been called by tamil Nadu cm Edappadi K Palaniswamu with respect to the reopening of the Sterlite plant. The meeting has been called to discuss Vedanta's Sterlite Plant issue for the production of medical oxygen and whether permission should be granted to re-open the plant in Thoothukudi.

The all-party meeting which began a few hours back has now ended and the parties have decided to reopen the plant. As per sources, tamil Nadu government has allowed the plant to be reopened for four months and the power supply will be provided from today. Earlier, Vedanta appealed to the supreme court regarding restarting the plant as they are capable of producing Thousand Metric tonnes of oxygen every day and that would be really helpful in meeting India's oxygen shortage right now.

The plant also came forward to give the oxygen-free of cost without expecting anything in return. DMK mp kanimozhi also agreed to reopen the plant. However, she asked the tamil Nadu government to cut the power supply for other equipment which are needed for copper Production. But, tamil Nadu government refused to hear that plea and they have fixed a committee under Thoothukudi Collector's supervision to monitor that only oxygen is being produced in the plant.
