Rain Outrage: chennai battles the heavy floods

People in chennai are again grappling against floods and waterlogging after a continuous intense spell. Surplus water is flowing from all reservoirs. Roads and subways are closed due to traffics. There were many disruptions in the local bus services and railway services. Traffic diversions at many places to caution the people. Two-wheelers and bicycles were found buried under sheets of water.

 Poondi and Chembarambakkam lake have released a surplus of water due to heavy showers in all catchment areas. The Poondi water reservoir release in the Tiruvallur district had been made in a phased manner with 12,000 cusees in the evening.
The relief management deployed 54 inflatable boats including excavators and heavy pumps in many areas in Chennai. 464 areas had witnessed water stagnation and work is going in full swing to bail out the stagnant water.
 The fallen trees are also removed and efforts are being taken to restore traffics in all the disrupted areas. Most of the houses had rainwater entering inside which are in low-lying areas like Urapakkam and Guduvancherry.
 Schools and colleges remain closed in six districts. electricity was completely off in many places.
