Mohammed Iqbal, a former MLC for the YSRCP, has joined the telugu desam party after leaving the party and his MLC role. Today, Iqbal joined the tdp in Nara Chandrababu Naidu's presence. Iqbal was an IPS officer in the past. He has previously served as Rayalaseema's Inspector General (IG). In the most recent elections, he ran against Nandamuri balakrishna for the Hindupur mla seat. He did not win the elections, nevertheless. He was later appointed MLC. Despite having an expiration date of 2027, Iqbal decided to leave the YCP.

Iqbal allegedly became enraged when deepika was handed the Hindupur ticket for the next general elections. He reportedly had disagreements with the local ycp leaders as well, which ultimately caused him to quit the organization. Iqbal stated in his letter of resignation that he was departing the party for personal reasons. He joined the tdp this morning and offered his support to balakrishna, who is standing for election from Hindupur once more.
