As Vighnaharta, or the remover of barriers and the bringer of auspiciousness, Lord Ganesha is revered in Hinduism. Drik Panchang claims that there are two Chaturthi Tithis for every lunar month in the Hindu calendar.

Hindu scriptures state that Lord Ganesha is the rightful owner of Chaturthi Tithi or Tithi.  Vinayaka Chaturthi is the Chaturthi that occurs after Amavasya, or the new moon, during Shukla Paksha, and Sankashti Chaturthi is the one that occurs after Purnimasi, or the full moon, during krishna Paksha. On this day, people present a variety of auspicious objects as charity and engage in ritualistic worship of Lord Ganesh.

Worshiping Lord Ganesh on this day is thought to remove all life's challenges and provide pleasure and wealth.  It is advised to worship Lord Ganesh with trust and devotion on Vinayak Chaturthi if you also hope for success and good fortune in your life.

Worship Method for Vinayak Chaturthi
Get up early in the Brahma Muhurat on the day of the fast, take a shower, and change into fresh clothing.  Commit to keeping the fast after this.  Lay a fresh green cloth on a wooden platform for the puja, which can be performed at your home temple or any other holy location.  On this platform, place the idol of Lord Ganesh.  After that, light a lamp and give Lord Ganesh a ritual bath with pure ganga water.  Offer incense, sindoor, red flowers, and grass to Lord Ganesh Durva during the puja. Chant the Ganesh Sankatnashan Stotra and the holy mantra "Om Gan Ganapataye Namah" while worshiping.

Distribute the prasad (blessed offerings) and conduct Lord Ganesh's Aarti after the puja.  This kind of ritualistic worship is thought to swiftly appease Lord Ganesh, bestowing onto the devotee the gifts of joy, wealth, and a life free from hindrances. Be pure in your thoughts, words, and deeds while keeping the fast.  Stay away from pessimistic thinking and act altruistically.  On this day, you can give food, clothing, or other necessities.
