Following the rule of the state government of tamil Nadu, no film will be released in theaters before 9 a.m. The first show in the theater is said to screen only after 9 a.m., and even Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' had its first show only at that time. Now, in a video interview with the YouTube channel Behindwoods, producer Dhananjayan revealed that there will be no early morning shows for 'Leo'.
He added that if they wanted to tweak the rule, they would have done it for 'Jailer' because it was produced by sun Pictures, and when 'Jailer' did not cut the slack, he reportedly said that 'Leo' could not make it to the list to release early.
He also explained in the video that theaters are now receiving orders not to play shows at 9 a.m. because 11:30 a.m. is the default and ideal time for the theaters in tamil Nadu for movie screenings and shows. Dhananjayan added that even 9 a.m. is a special show, and theaters have to pay a particular price to screen movies at that time. According to the rule of the government, theaters should start operating only by 11:30 a.m.
The producer's statement brought sadness to Vijay's fans as not all theaters will showcase the FDFS at 9 a.m. and it will be delayed. Though the film will be released without any cuts, many fans are sulking as they will not have the feel of watching the FDFS if shows are scheduled at a later time.
Directed by lokesh Kanagara, 'Leo' is set for its release in theaters on october 19, and the film stars Vijay, Trisha, sanjay dutt Arjun, priya Anand, gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor ali Khan, Matthew Thomas, and sandy in important roles. anurag kashyap is said to play a cameo role in the movie, and the film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
