Finance minister PDR Palanivel Thiagarajan is presenting the budget of the State of tamil Nadu for the year 2022-23. The budget meeting began at 10 a.m. as planned. As the meeting began, opposition leader Edappadi Palanichamy urged them to speak up.

PDR Palanivel Thiagarajan continues to read the budget after AIADMK legislators walked out. He has been making various announcements in it. The budget is being read amid a severe economic crisis, with the expectation that it will include the promises made during the election.

He said the budget was drafted since the war between russia and ukraine would have an impact on the state's economy. He said the budget was based on the advancement of women and youth.

He said the central government is formulating a policy for this. He also said that Rs 50 crore would be allocated for the "I am the first" project launched to develop the individuality of the students.

It is noteworthy that the PDR, in its budget speech, has promised that action will be taken by students returning from ukraine due to the war while urging the Central and State Governments to take action to ensure that half of the students who have dropped out of the country continue their education at home or abroad.
