Union minister Raosaheb Danve said that if the bjp has to win the aurangabad Lok Sabha seat in
Maharashtra in 2024, it will have to ensure that All india Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader
and sitting mp Imtiyaz jaleel contest elections next year.
Talking to reporters after attending a meeting at the district Collectorate here, Raosaheb Danve claimed that
the bharatiya janata party (BJP) would win the next elections with the biggest margin ever.
'It has to be ensured that Jalil contests elections'
When asked about the political scenario in aurangabad Lok Sabha seat, Danve said, "We have a different
kind of friendship with Imtiaz Jaleel. Be it (BJP leader) Bhagwat Karad or anyone else, we have to ensure
that our candidate wins in 2024 and we have to ensure that jaleel contests. Jalil was also present when
Danve made this remark.
'Shiv Sena's split has weakened the party'
BJP leader Bhagwat Karad had said a few days ago that Eknath Shinde-led shiv sena should allow bjp to
field its candidate from aurangabad Lok Sabha seat as the split in shiv sena (undivided) has weakened the
party. The aurangabad seat has traditionally been won by the shiv sena (undivided) candidate. However, in
2019, jaleel won his first electoral contest from here by defeating his nearest rival and shiv sena veteran
Chandrakant Khaire.
