After this, more than 10 products were provided on behalf of the tamil Nadu government, including sweet rice, cashews, and jaggery. A cash payment of one thousand rupees and whole sugarcane was given last year after a complaint was received that these products were of poor quality.
The same was expected to be given this year as well. But notification was issued to supply only rice, sugar and whole sugarcane. As a result, the public is demanding a cash payment of one thousand rupees from the tamil Nadu government. So it is said that an announcement will be made today regarding the pongal prize amount.
In this situation, in puducherry like tamil Nadu, last year 2022 pongal package containing 10 items including sweet rice, jaggery, cashews, grapes, green lentils and peanuts was given. In lieu of this, the prize money was given last year. pongal prize amount has been announced this year too. Accordingly, the government has planned to give 500 rupees each to 3 lakh 53 thousand 249 people this year. It is noted that Rs 1000 has already been paid into the bank account for one lakh 30 thousand 791 fair ration cards instead of pongal free cloth.
