Veerappan, a notorious sandalwood smuggler who wreaked havoc in karnataka and tamil Nadu for decades, was responsible for numerous attacks on police and forest personnel. Among his victims was Srinivas, a telugu IFS officer from Rajahmundry, who was brutally killed by Veerappan. On october 18, 2004, veerappan was shot dead by special police forces.
Veerappan's daughter, Vidyarani, a lawyer by profession, made headlines when she joined the bharatiya janata party (BJP) in July 2020 and served as the Vice President of bjp tamil Nadu youth Wing. However, she recently announced her resignation from the bjp and joined the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) party, led by noted tamil actor and director Seeman.
Seeman has allocated the krishnagiri MP seat to Vidyarani for the upcoming lok sabha elections scheduled for april 19. Vidyarani, who has a deep connection to krishnagiri and Bangalore, currently runs a small children's school in Krishnagiri. Despite being Veerappan's daughter, Vidyarani only met him once in her lifetime, during her third standard, at her grandfather's house in Gopinatham on the tamil Nadu-Karnataka border.
During their brief meeting, veerappan encouraged her to excel in her studies and pursue a career in medicine, emphasizing the importance of providing medical services to the underprivileged.
