According to doctors, these include dry eyes and skin, respiratory problems including dry throat worsened allergies or asthma, and even exhaustion or dehydration.

Experts claim that an abrupt temperature shift also causes your Eustachian tubes, which connect your middle ear to the back of your throat, to constrict or obstruct. Thus, over time, elevated pressure may result in infections.

Disruption of Body Temperature

Sleeping in a room with air conditioning causes your body to cool down excessively, which merely throws off its natural systems for regulating body temperature.  Repeated exposure can cause hypothermia, or a sharp drop in your core body temperature, even though doctors recommend a reasonable ambient temperature for restful, undisturbed sleep.  It can cause shivers and health problems, particularly in young children and the elderly.

What to do if you sleep in a room with an air conditioner?

Make sure the temperature is optimal.

Experts advise that a room's sleeping temperature shouldn't be lower than 24°C. Adjustments are required depending on external elements such as ambient temperature and humidity levels, even though your own tastes may differ. people may also be tempted to turn down the air conditioner in exceptionally hot weather, but doing so can result in overcooling and possible health hazards.

Duration of Exposure

Experts claim that prolonged exposure disrupts natural sleep rhythms, even though there is no way to avoid it in areas with central air conditioning. To keep the temperature comfortable for a shorter time, utilize programmable thermostats or limit consumption to one to two hours while you sleep.
