The film's director, vivek Agnihotri, invited "all the intellectuals, urban naxals, and the so-called accomplished director from Israel" to prove that even one frame of "The kashmir Files" was a work of propaganda in a thorough video response to the criticism of the movie by the international Film festival of india (IFFI) jury chairman, Nadav Lapid. He threatened to completely cease creating movies if they succeeded. In an emotional remark before launching into his challenge, Agnihotri noted that he was used to hearing comments like this from "terrorist organisations, urban naxals, and individuals who desire to make 'tukde tukde' out of India."

The director expressed surprise that "someone invited by the government of india, speaking from a forum created by the government of india, chose to back the narrative of terrorists who wish to separate kashmir from india," and that certain indian citizens then amplified the message because it suited their ideology.

According to Agnihotri, "These indians have utilised these statements against India." He inquired, "Who are these people?" and then said, "These were the same people who have been opposed to 'The kashmir Files' for the last four years," referring to the time he had spent learning about the subject of his contentious but wildly popular film.

Agnihotri continued by emphasising that the video was based on interviews with 700 persons who had witnessed the brutalization, rape, or murder of a loved one. He queried feelingly, "Were they engaging in obscene propaganda." The few remaining Hindus are still being singled out and slaughtered one by one, he noted, having all been terrorised into leaving Kashmir. Is Yasin Malik's current state of rot in prison, having admitted to countless terrorist attacks and murders, vulgar propaganda? By claiming that "The kashmir Files" is propaganda, they are attempting to disprove the existence of a genocide in Kashmir.
