
Representatives of farmers met punjab Agriculture minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian on Tuesday, the last day of
the three-day protest, regarding their various demands. These farmers are protesting under the banner of United
Kisan Morcha. These farmers are also ready to meet governor Banwarilal Purohit. On the other hand, a large
number of farmers have gathered at the Mohali-Chandigarh border to pressurize the Center with various demands
including legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) of crops. The protesting farmers are also demanding
withdrawal of the cases registered against them. These cases were registered during the 2020-21 agitation.
These farmers are demanding job, compensation, loan waiver and pension for a member of the family of the
farmers who lost their lives during the movement. On the other hand, Khudian told journalists that the farmers
have said that they will submit a detailed memorandum to the state government on december 4. He will also meet
Punjab cm Bhagwant Mann on december 19.
Governor called to meet
On the other hand, punjab farmer leader Ruldu Singh Mansa said that a memorandum has been submitted to the
Agriculture minister regarding the demands related to the state government, while a detailed memorandum will
be submitted to the Agriculture minister by december 4. He told that the concerned departments will also
participate in the meeting on december 19. Let us tell you that the governor of punjab had called the
representatives of the farmers of the state for a meeting on Tuesday.
Demand to withdraw the case on stubble burning
At the same time, farmer leaders have decided that the Morcha will decide on its next step after meeting Governor
Banwari Lal Purohit. Crops were damaged due to floods in the months of July and August, for which the Morcha
is demanding compensation. Apart from this, it is demanding government procurement of crops like maize and
moong, support price of sugarcane and payment of sugarcane dues. Besides, the farmers who have been sued for
burning stubble are also demanding the withdrawal of the case.
