The film 'Bengal Files' is surrounded by controversies even before its release. Recently, there was a ruckus at the trailer launch event of this film held in Kolkata. Several FIRs have also been registered against vivek Agnihotri. Gopal Mukherjee's family has also filed a complaint against the director. Let us tell you that Shantanu Mukherjee, grandson of popular bengali warrior Gopal Mukherjee, who stopped the riots in the year 1946, has filed an FIR against vivek Agnihotri. Along with this, the director has been accused of tarnishing the image of his grandfather.

Objection has been raised by his family regarding the role of bengali warrior Gopal Mukherjee in the film 'Bengal Files'. Gopal Mukherjee has been shown as 'butcher Gopal Patha' in the trailer. His family has protested against this and filed a complaint against the director. Gopal Mukherjee's grandson, Shantanu, claims that his grandfather has been shown wrongly in the trailer. His grandfather was not a butcher by profession, but was a wrestler and the head of Anushilan Samiti. He played an important role in stopping the riots.

Gopal Mukherjee's grandson said in a conversation with the indian Express, 'I have complained to my local police station (Bowbazar police Station). My lawyer has also sent a legal notice to the director for tarnishing my grandfather's image. According to Shantanu, vivek Agnihotri neither took the permission of the family nor contacted them before making the film. He said, 'The director never took any permission from us, nor tried to meet us or talk about my grandfather. Abusive words were used against my grandfather.

Meanwhile, during a press conference held in delhi on Monday, vivek Agnihotri clarified the allegations against him. He says that he has not shown Gopal Mukherjee's image in a bad light in the film. Rejecting the allegations against him, vivek Agnihotri has said that he has shown Gopal Mukherjee as a hero in the film. The film 'Bengal Files' will be released on september 5. It stars Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, mithun Chakraborty, Omung Kumar, and Shashwat Chatterjee in important roles.

Vivek Agnihotri said about the controversy over showing Gopal Mukherjee in the film, 'I have shown him as a hero in the film. I have taken some excerpts from his interview with the BBC and have presented what he said verbatim. I know that the people of bengal consider him a hero, and I have presented him in the same way. The director further said, 'I respect him a lot'.

Vivek Agnihotri alleged that Shantanu's FIR was an action taken under political pressureThe director said that Shantanu filed an FIR against him and the team of 'The bengal Files' because he was forced to do so. Vivek Agnihotri said, 'His grandson Shantanu works with TMC (Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress) and he is doing what is mandatory for him... You know how bengal politics is. He is being forced to do what he has to do. We will answer him legally.
