Yesterday, a seven-member central delegation arrived in chennai to assess flood damage in tamil Nadu. Today and tomorrow, the team will be split into two groups to investigate flood damage in 11 districts and Pondicherry. In tamil Nadu, the northeast monsoon has become more intense. Various districts have been hit by persistent heavy rainfall. Hundreds of thousands of acres of crops have been flooded and ruined. The Committee of Ministers examined the delta areas on the Chief Minister's directives and released a report on agricultural loss. 

The appeal was handed to Union home minister amit shah by DMK Parliamentary Committee Chairman DR Balu in Delhi. For flood relief, the national government has been asked to provide Rs 2,629 crore. It has also sought that Rs 549.63 crore be released immediately for the first phase. A seven-member central team arrived in chennai at 1 p.m. yesterday to evaluate the flood damage in tamil Nadu in this context. At 3.30 p.m., the Central Committee met with dignitaries at the General Secretariat, including General Secretary V. Irayanpu. K. Panindra Reddy, the Revenue Commissioner, then presented a thorough account of the flood devastation in tamil Nadu.

The Central team next went to the chennai Corporation office (Ribbon House) to examine the flood damage images that had been put there. Following that, officials including Corporation Commissioner Kagandeep Singh Bedi were consulted. The Central Committee will be meeting cm Stalin tomorrow regarding the funds and other details.
