A few years prior, after a fierce contest, actor-producer manchu vishnu emerged victorious in the movie Artiste Association's (MAA) presidential election. In addition to a number of other campaign pledges, vishnu had committed to building the group a building. Although vishnu has been able to deliver on some of his election pledges, he has not yet realised the association's long-held goal of obtaining a building.
 
However, vishnu has not yet planned major events to raise money for MAA. Although there were some preparations made to have fundraisers throughout these two years, they have not been able to come to fruition as of yet. vishnu has now announced a big fundraising event that will take place in malaysia in July. Today, vishnu said that the occasion has been dubbed "Navatihi," and it would present to the global audience the rich 90-year history of the telugu cinema industry.
 
"The Navatihi event was supposed to be organised two years ago, but for a variety of reasons, it kept getting pushed back. Such events have been organised in the past, and the MAA committee members of that era were able to generate a respectable amount of money from them. We intend to raise enormous sums of money through the Navatihi event in malaysia, surpassing previous records. At a press conference earlier today, vishnu stated, "We will soon confer with the industry heavyweights and announce the event dates."
