Raj Thackeray's warning to the government...?
The Mahayuti government in maharashtra has made hindi language compulsory for classes 1 to 5 in Marathi and english medium schools. maharashtra navnirman sena (MNS) chief raj Thackeray has given a strong reaction to this. He put forth his point in detail and said that we will not allow the compulsory teaching of hindi language from class 1 in Maharashtra. The hindi books which are in the school curriculum will not be allowed to be sold in shops and these books will not be allowed to be distributed among the students in schools. The school administration should take cognizance of this.
MNS chief raj Thackeray wrote, "I want to say in clear words that maharashtra navnirman sena will never tolerate this forcefulness. We will not let the efforts of 'Hinduisation' which are currently being made by the government everywhere succeed in this state. hindi is not a national language. It is just a state language like other languages of this country. Then why should it be taught from the first class in Maharashtra?''
'Why suddenly start imposing a second state language?'
He further said, ''Your three-language formula should be limited to government practices only, it should not be brought to education. States were formed on linguistic basis in this country and it has been going on for so many years. But why is the imposition of a second state language on maharashtra suddenly starting now?
Violation of the principle of formation of linguistic states - raj Thackeray
raj Thackeray said, ''Every language is beautiful and there is a long history and tradition behind its formation and the language which belongs to a state should be respected in that state. Just like Marathi language should be respected by other speakers in maharashtra, similarly the language of that state should be respected by all speakers in other states. Even Marathi people who live in other states should also consider the language of that state as their language. This is our request. But if you are trying to weaken the linguistic tradition of this country, then that is not acceptable to us."
