A professor of jawaharlal nehru university (JNU) has been sacked on charges of molesting a foreign female researcher. This decision was taken after a meeting held on wednesday (April 16) evening. The professor was working in the department of international Politics and Disarmament. After receiving the complaint, the investigation went on for a long time and finally the university administration took strict action. Reliable sources of JNU tell that a few months ago, this professor molested a Japanese student during a meeting. The student returned from india and lodged a complaint in Japan, after which the embassy there informed the indian government about it. After this, an internal investigation was started in JNU on the instructions of the Ministry of Education.

Decision to remove the professor in the meeting of JNU Executive Council

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of jawaharlal nehru university, considering the seriousness of the complaint, recorded the statement of the woman and submitted its report to the Executive Council. On the basis of this report, the decision to remove the professor from the job was taken last evening. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Executive Council of the University.

JNU administration did not issue any statement

Along with this, action has also been taken against another professor and two officials in corruption related cases. JNU administration has not yet issued any official statement on this entire matter. An attempt was made to talk to Vice Chancellor professor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit but at the moment she has not given any answer.

What option does the sacked professor have?

Questions have been raised many times before about women's safety in the university, in such a situation, this incident has again put JNU's image under question. At present, the sacked professor has the option to appeal, but if we talk about the facts at present, the allegations against him in the Internal Complaints Committee i.e. ICC have been proved.
