Following a period of intense rainfall, severe flooding-like conditions persisted in numerous districts of tamil Nadu. Due to extreme flooding, all schools in the tirunelveli district will be closed on Thursday, according to ANI. All colleges will operate normally, with the exception of those that are serving as relief camps for the district's residents, aside from the schools. In the midst of severe flooding, many communities in the state still lack basic supplies including food, water, and electricity.
Teams from the indian Air Force, indian Coast Guard, NDRF, and other organizations are actively providing aid to those who are stuck in flooded areas. The state's numerous regions have experienced flooding as a result of excessive rainfall, which has impacted the operations of hundreds of trains. There are still rescue operations going on all around the state despite the tremendous water. A special train carrying Srivaikuntam rescue passengers arrived in chennai on Wednesday. Because of the heavy rains that started on december 18, passengers were left stuck at Srivakuntam railway station for over three days. Many of them sobbed while arriving at Chennai's Egmore train station after seeing their loved ones.
The passengers who had become stranded for three days conveyed their gratitude to the residents of Srivaikuntam upon arriving at the railway station.
The Srivaikuntam people are the reason we are still here today. We went through a lot, but their assistance gave us hope. More than 300 passengers were served lemon rice and sambal rice at a temple close to the station. One of the stranded passengers, Nivetha, told ANI that "we need to do something for Srivaikuntam people when I visit Srivaikuntam in the future."
