Social media users have aimed at Sweta Singh, the senior anchor of a reputable hindi station after a video of her coverage of the recent pahalgam terror attack went viral. Because Sweta Singh's reporting revealed a "natural hideout" for terrorists, she is being mocked.

Sweta claims that the hollow tree trunk in the widely shared video would serve as a terrorist's natural hiding place. According to her account, the empty compartment in the trunk has enough room for two individuals to sit. Sweta's reportage tape has gone viral on the internet. The viral video prompted a lot of netizens to insult and criticize the news anchor.

Some users recalled Sweta's nearly ten-year-old assertion from a live broadcast that some individuals were claiming a new 2000 denomination currency note contained a nano chip that made the note traceable after seeing her coverage of Pahalgam. Poking fun at the hindi news anchor, a user commented, "Shweta Singh who once found satellite-linked nano-chips in ₹2,000 notes, is now searching for terrorists hiding inside trees. No wonder people think she's a 'पेड़' journalist."

YouTube Journalist Abhisar Sharma mocked Sweta saying, "After great success of nano chip journalism, (see) the tree journalist!"
