A Chinese woman created a record for having longest eyelashes in the world. She broke her own record that she created in the year 2016. The woman named You Jianxia holds the Guinness World Record for having the longest eyelashes since 28 june 2016. Her eyelashes measured 12.4 cm (4.88 in) back then and were present on the upper eyelid of her eyes.

Now after five years she continued to grow her eyelashes and as on 20 May 2021, her eyelashes grew to the new length of 20.5 cm (8.0 in). As per Guinness World Records, Jianxia first came to know about her eyelash growth in 2015. She also said to have consulted a doctor about her condition, but nothing was futile. She said, "I first realized that my eyelashes were growing in 2015. They continue to grow slowly, becoming longer and longer."

She further said said, "I did visit medical professionals to find out why my eyelashes are longer than other people's eyelashes. The doctor couldn't explain this, and he felt it was really amazing. I also tried to find scientific reasons such as genes or something else. However, none of my family have long eyelashes like me, so it can't be explained."

She finally concluded by saying that she has spent 480 days in the mountains and so it may be gift from buddha to her.
