The haryana cabinet on monday approved the scheme to provide monthly assistance of Rs 3,000 to stage three

and four cancer patients to reduce the financial burden of cancer patients. An official statement issued after the

state cabinet meeting held here under the chairmanship of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that this

decision will benefit about 22,808 patients.

It said that the monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,000 provided under the scheme will be in addition to the

benefits the eligible applicant is getting under any other social security pension scheme. The statement said that

eligible patients will be given financial assistance at the same rate as old age honor allowance. It said that initially

the patients will get a monthly assistance of Rs 2,750, while from january 2024 this amount will increase to Rs

3,000. Earlier, during the inauguration of Atal cancer Care Center (ACCC) in Ambala Cantt, the Chief Minister

had announced pension for third and fourth stage cancer patients.


Communication and connectivity infrastructure amendment policy also approved

Apart from this, the haryana cabinet has approved the Communication and Connectivity Infrastructure

Amendment Policy- 2023 to increase the availability of high-quality technology and communication

infrastructure across the state. An official statement said that the revised policy has been brought in place of the

Communication and Connectivity Policy- 2017. It follows the revised ‘Indian Telegraph Right of Way’ rules

notified by the Union Ministry of Communications (Department of Telecommunications) in 2022. The decision

encourages integration of cutting-edge technological advancements in the telecom sector, including innovative

business models such as ‘Fibre to the Home’ (FTTH) and ‘Open Access Network’ (OAN).
