"Shaakuntalam" is directed by Gunasekhar, and it is produced by his daughter Neelima. The movie's financier and presenter, dil Raju, is also engaged in the business side of things. Because gunasekhar is asking for a significant amount of money for the rights, satellite and other agreements for the movie have not yet been finalised. He wants to sell the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and kannada satellite rights as a package, but the networks haven't agreed to his asking price because it's too expensive.

Producer dil Raju, however, wants to finalise all non-theatrical agreements before the movie's release because he doesn't want to take any chances. The movie will be seen in theatres on april 14. Given that samantha has become a well-known figure throughout all of India, gunasekhar is asking for a large sum of money. The genre of the movie is not appealing to younger viewers, so the channels are reluctant to purchase the rights.

In the indian languages of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and kannada, the massively produced film Shaakuntalam is about to be released. It is based on the highly acclaimed sanskrit play "Abhijnana Shakuntalam" by Kalidasa.In the Gunasekhar-written and -directed 3D film Shaakuntalam, samantha Ruth Prabhu plays the main role. It was created by neelima Guna and performed by dil raju through Sri Venkateswara Creations.
