In this meeting, the DM has said that it was necessary to register the lift under the Lift and Escalator Act 2024. But, a large number of them have not been registered. In such a situation, the registration of these lifts will now be done with three times the amount. If registration is not done then the operation of the lift will be stopped.

For smooth and safe operation of the lift, registration has to be ensured under the Lift and Escalator Rules-2024. He appealed to them to give information about the Act to the people living in their society and also pay special attention to the regular inspection and maintenance of the lifts.

In the meeting, Assistant director Electrical Safety said that under the rules, the opportunity to register the lift was given till march 31, but till now only 7702 lifts have been registered. Whereas there are more than 80 thousand lifts in noida and Greater Noida. After the completion of the time, the lift had to be registered with a late fee. First, the registration had to be done at the rate of Rs 100 per day in seven days, then Rs 200 per day in seven to 15 days, Rs 500 per day in 15 to 30 days, but this time has also expired. After 30 days, a late fee of Rs 10,000 will have to be paid.
