The "Snyderverse" of Zack Snyder's ambitions for the DC Extended Universe has officially ceased, according to Warner Bros., although not all of Snyder's ideas have been abandoned. Despite the popularity of Zack Snyder's Justice League and a vocal group of DC fans who want to see its planned sequels hit the big screen, an interview with DC Chief Creative Officer-Publisher Jim Lee at 2022's San Diego Comic-Con put an end to Snyder's continued involvement in the DCEU film franchise. Although the DCEU is moving in a different path than Snyder's anticipated sequels, several aspects of his long-term plan are unquestionably compatible with the new direction the DCEU is taking, suggesting that the Snyderverse may continue in some form.

By directing Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and collaborating closely with fellow directors Pattie Jenkins and james Wan to ensure that their combined creative vision was consistent, Zack Snyder served as one of the DCEU's first key creatives. Unfortunately, a family tragedy prevented Snyder from finishing the theatrical release of 2017's Justice League, and Joss Whedon's final product was a colossal letdown. Although the DCEU has already moved on from the Snyderverse, for better or worse, the popularity of Justice League's director's cut sparked interest in Snyder's intentions for the DCEU once more.

Regardless of how well received Snyder's Justice League was by critics, a new era for the DCEU has already begun, with significant plot twists for the franchise planned for the upcoming The Flash film and many important stars from the Snyderverse no longer appearing in DCEU films. Snyder's ultimate goal for the DCEU may no longer be attainable, but his ideas can still be implemented in subsequent DCEU films. Henry Cavill's Superman and his subsequent adventures after Steppenwolf's death are reported to receive much more attention in the DCEU, allowing for the utilisation of some of Snyder's Superman plans. Characters like Wonder Woman and perhaps the new Batman and Batgirl will also benefit from this.
