Indian Green Building Council's coveted award has been given to the recently opened telangana secretariat complex. On Monday, the IGBC members visited Vemula Prashanth reddy, the minister of roads and buildings, in the secretariat and gave him the award. Prashanth reddy gave the state government credit for building the secretariat with cutting-edge amenities and being environmentally conscious.

Prashanth reddy, who was delighted to receive the award, claimed that it was chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao's vision that had enabled telangana to successfully grow its green cover by 7.7 percent since the state's creation. In order to conserve electricity and promote renewable energy, the telangana government also aims to install solar power panels at the secretariat, according to Prashanth Reddy.
