Ahemdabad Air India Flight Crash

Minister of State for Civil Aviation muralidhar Mohol told Rajya Sabha on monday that a total of 9 show cause notices have been issued to air india in the last six months due to 5 different security violations. Action has been completed on one violation. On june 12, 2025, air india flight AI171, going to London, crashed seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad airport. The plane fell on a medical hostel building, killing 241 out of 242 passengers, as well as many people on the ground.

AAIB gave preliminary report

The Aircraft accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released the preliminary report of the accident on July 12. The report stated that the fuel switches of both engines were turned off immediately after takeoff. In the recording of the black box, one pilot asks the other, "Why did you cut it?" The answer was - "I did not."

No negative report

The minister of State said that no negative trend was seen in the reliability report of the accident aircraft in the last six months. Despite this, the entire investigation of the accident is being done by AAIB under Rule 11.

Union Aviation minister furious at Western media

Ram Mohan Naidu said that the Western media may have vested interest in the coverage of the air india crash. He further said that the government will wait for the final investigation report. Criticizing the Western media, he praised the decoding of the black box by AAIB and appealed to the world not to draw hasty conclusions.

Naidu said this is the first time the country did not have to send the black box to another country for decoding as its lab has been set up to analyse flight data and cockpit recordings. He was referring to the new facility set up at the AAIB headquarters in delhi in april to analyse aircraft flight data and cockpit recordings.
