Award Recognition
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan won his first National Award for Best Actor for the film Jawan at the 69th National Film Awards.
He shared the honour with vikrant massey for 12th Fail.
Fans and industry peers celebrated the recognition, calling it a long-overdue milestone in SRK’s career.
The win has triggered political discussions, with the bjp and congress trading accusations over the timing and intent behind the award.
BJP: ‘Award Based on Merit’
Former bjp mla Raj Purohit defended SRK’s win, stating it highlights meritocracy over religion or caste.
Purohit emphasized that the bjp does not discriminate based on religion and instead values talent and performance.
“Shah Rukh winning the award counters claims that the bjp practices caste or religious discrimination,” Purohit added.
He further stated that the party believes in unity, capability, and recognising merit, highlighting the award as a symbol of fairness.
Congress: ‘Timing Looks Political’
Congress mla Bhai Jagtap congratulated Shah Rukh but questioned the sudden timing of the award.
Jagtap remarked that SRK was overlooked for eleven years, raising concerns about potential political motives.
He suggested the award could be linked to upcoming elections in bihar and Maharashtra.
Congress alleged that the recognition might be used to garner voter support, rather than purely celebrating artistic achievement.
Fans and Family Reaction
SRK’s children, Suhana Khan and aryan Khan, shared their pride on social media.
They posted a photo of SRK with the silver medal, writing: “You always said you never win the silver, only lose the gold, but this silver is Gold.”
Fans expressed a mix of relief and celebration, calling the recognition symbolic of both SRK’s legacy and cultural importance.
The award also drew attention to SRK’s previous acclaimed performances in films like Swades and Chak De! India, and My Name Is Khan, which had gone unrecognized by the National Awards earlier.
